Langur is a gray-colored, black-faced, long-tailed long-limbed monkey. Length of head and body is 41-78 cm. Tail is 69-108 cm.

Leaves, flowers, shoots, buds, fruit and cultivation.

| Behavior : |
Diurnal. More arboreal than rhesus but spends time foraging on the ground. Leaps long distances from branch to branch and from branch to ground. Leaps with hind limbs and lands on fore and hind limbs. Langurs are gregarious and are found in groups of up to 25 animals and more. Troops are male dominated and more stable than the rhesus. They give alarm call on spotting predators like tigers and leopards.

Mating takes place from late monsoons to early winters. Gestation period is 186-210 days. Births are recorded in early summers. 1 young is given birth.
